Restorations & Endodontics

Horses can develop tooth decay, which can cause cavities or exposure to the vital portion of the tooth, the pulp. Endodontic problems may lead to tooth fracture or abscess. Early detection and treatment of certain endodontic problems may help prevent premature tooth loss in some horses.

If we find tooth decay on the oral exam, we will often recommend radiographs to help us evaluate the overall health of the tooth. Radiographs are often necessary in helping us determine the best treatment plan.

We are equipped for performing restorations and endodontics when indicated. We use equipment and materials similar to what might be used in your own dentist’s office.
